Welcome to Asheritah’s Bookshelf!
A cozy, faith-filled corner for book lovers and kindred spirits
Ever since I’d learned to read, I’ve had my nose stuck in a book.1
I’m delighted by all things bookish and literary, and it’s my honest joy that I get to write for a living.

I read widely, even though I read slowly, and I consider it one of my greatest parenting accomplishments that all three of my children love to read as much as I do.
We’re bookish people.
And if you are too, then I’d love for you to pull up a chair and join me for Asheritah’s Bookshelf—a monthly letter about faith, stories, and the joy of reading.
I want to know what you’re reading, what’s on your bookshelf, and what book is keeping you up at night.
Because I believe that when we delight in good books, we’re reminded of the goodness of the Author behind them.
I want to see pictures of your bookshelves, and I’ll show you mine:
Fun fact: If you ever invite me over to your house for coffee, I’ll be the friend scanning your bookshelves to see which titles we have in common.2
Oh, and I take pictures of books and shelves and personal libraries on our family’s epic travels, so expect to see inspiring photos—of an independent bookstore in Italy, a gorgeous castle library in Romania, and a hidden booknook in Durango, Colorado—in future letters to come.

But this isn’t just about celebrating the books that are shaping our souls; it’s also about peeking behind the scenes of the writing life and finding fresh delight in the creativity of our Creator.
I want you to finish each letter feeling inspired in your own creative endeavors, whether that’s writing, painting, baking, embroidery, gardening, or some other form of subcreating with God.
So inside each issue you’ll find:
Shelf Talk – a peek into what I’m reading (and why I picked it up)
The Book Basket – themed reading lists for every season
Writer’s Corner – reflections and encouragement for creatives
Give & Gather – cozy book giveaways and reader conversations
Additionally, we’re considering hosting a gentle book club discussion every quarter that you can join from anywhere—no pressure, just friendship and faith through storytelling. Let me know if that sounds like something you’d enjoy?3
Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm or a weary reader finding your way back, you’re welcome here. This isn’t just another newsletter—it’s a gathering of kindred spirits who love Jesus, stories, and a good cup of tea.

You’re not alone if your nightstand is stacked with half-finished books, or if you love the idea of reading as much as the practice itself. 😉
That’s what so many of you shared in our recent survey, and it confirmed what I’ve long suspected: this is a community of thoughtful, creative women who crave depth, beauty, and a good story to stir the soul.
Every book we love whispers faint echoes of the greatest Story ever told—and together, we get to trace those echoes back to Him.
So here’s to stories that stir our hearts, to words that awaken wonder, and to the Author who delights in every page of our lives.
I’m so glad you’re here, friend. I can’t wait to see where this Bookshelf adventure takes us.
Cheering you on, one page at a time,
💛 Asheritah
PS Books are better with friends—especially kindred spirits who love Jesus and stories as much as we do.
Belle has always been my favorite Disney princess. What girl doesn’t dream of growing up to live in a castle with a floor-to-ceiling library? 🤩
It’s amazing how much you can tell about a person by the books that line their shelves—and the way they shelve them. (Don’t get me started on spine-in shelving. lol)
In the first months of 2025, my good friend Hannah Nitz and I hosted a book club for my latest release, Delighting in Jesus, and y’all showed up!!! It was such a blast, and Hannah and I both agree we should do it again. What do you think?
